How to Have Your Own Music Room
Are you a musician or an audiophile? If you are, then you might want to convert a spare room in your house to a nice music room. Here, you can listen to customised mixes or play your instrument with utmost privacy. This is definitely a home improvement project that you will be interested in.
First, clear the clutter, furniture, debris, and junk in the area that will become your musical abode. Doing so will provide you with a blank slate to work on. Once the area is clean, install soundproofing foam or cork board on the walls to prevent sound waves from bouncing around the place. Because walls with soundproofing material are not aesthetically pleasing, you can cover them with ceiling-to-floor curtains of a preferred design.
Next, place and arrange the furniture needed for your private musical place. Basically, you need a comfortable chair or couch, another couch or sofa for your guests, a small centre table, and the necessary stand for your high-tech sound system. For your favourite song mixes, digital mixer, and music-related software that are stored in a computer, place a table in the area.
Lastly, after the furniture pieces are placed in their final positions and all the electronic appliances are installed, it is time to liven up the room. Put your music and instrument stands near the chair or the couch where you will usually sit down to listen to your favourite songs or strum your guitar. Hang posters of your favourite artists or bands as well. As an alternative to posters, you can hang old or mock-up musical instruments such as guitars or flutes as decorations. Finally, add a live plant to freshen up the oxygen in your place.
